As wedding videographers in the San Francisco Bay Area, we've seen a lot of wedding trends come and go. But one trend that we're particularly excited about is the emerging trend of integrating pants into a bride's reception attire. In the past, bridal attire has been dominated by dresses. While dresses are certainly beautiful and elegant, they're not always practical. Brides who wear dresses often have to worry about tripping over their hem, getting their dress dirty, or simply feeling uncomfortable. That's where the pant-wearing bride comes in.

Pantsuits and jumpsuits have become increasingly popular among brides in recent years, and for good reason. They're comfortable, practical, and stylish all at once. And while some brides may worry that wearing pants on their wedding day is too unconventional, we think it's a perfect way to make a statement and stand out.

As videographers, we love filming brides who wear pants because it adds an extra layer of personality and uniqueness to their wedding day. Seeing a bride confidently rock a pantsuit or jumpsuit is truly inspiring, and it makes for some incredible footage.

Plus, there are so many different ways to integrate pants into a bride's reception attire. Some brides opt for a classic white pantsuit, while others choose a colorful jumpsuit or even a sequined two-piece. The possibilities are truly endless, and it's exciting to see each bride's unique take on this trend.

For inspiration, check out the video below, which features one of our recent brides from the San Francisco Asian Art Museum. The bride, Kai, started the day in a custom blush dress and transitioned during the ceremony into an all-white paint suit that was completely fabulous.

Should you include your dog on your wedding day? As wedding videographers, we love nothing more than capturing those special moments between couples and their dogs. In this blog post, we'll share some tips and ideas for how couples can incorporate their dogs into their wedding videography (along with a few notes of caution).

1. Include Your Dog in Pre-Wedding Activities: Before the wedding ceremony, include your pup in pre-wedding activities, such as getting ready with the bridal party or groomsmen. Videographers can capture these moments, from your dog playing with the bridal party to getting their fur brushed, and it can make for a fun addition to your wedding video.

2. Walk Down the Aisle with Your Pup: Dogs can make the perfect ring bearers or flower dogs. They can walk down the aisle with you, carrying the rings or flowers, making for a heartwarming moment that videographers will capture beautifully.

3. Include Your Dog in Your First Look: Your first look is an emotional and intimate moment. Including your dog in this moment can add an extra layer of joy and emotion. You can have your dog walk up to you or surprise your spouse-to-be with your dog at your side.

4. Make Them Part of Your Reception: Dogs can make great additions to wedding receptions. You can include them in the reception décor, such as a table sign that reads "My Humans Got Married" or incorporate them in the seating chart. They can also be part of the wedding party introductions or even have their own special dance with the bride or groom.

5. Capture Candid Moments with Your Dog: Dogs have a way of being adorable and spontaneous. Ask your videographer to capture candid moments with your dog, such as playing with guests, chasing after toys, or giving you kisses. These moments will make for an unforgettable addition to your wedding video.

But bringing your dog to your wedding also includes a few things that you should consider first. For example:

1. Make sure your venue allows dogs: Before you start planning your dog's role in your wedding, make sure that your venue allows dogs. Some venues have strict rules about pets, while others may allow dogs in certain areas only. Be sure to check with your venue before you start making any plans.

2. Consider your dog's personality: While you may love your dog's personality, not all dogs are suited for the hustle and bustle of a wedding. Some dogs may become anxious or stressed in a crowded or noisy environment. It's important to consider your dog's personality and behavior before deciding to include them in your wedding.

3. Have a designated dog handler: While you may be busy on your wedding day, it's important to have a designated dog handler to take care of your dog. Your handler can ensure that your dog is fed, watered, and walked, as well as keep an eye on them to make sure they're not getting into any trouble.

Including your dog in your wedding can be a wonderful experience, but it's important to be careful and mindful of your furry friend, your guests, and your venue. By considering your dog's personality, having a designated dog handler, being careful with accessories, and being mindful of your guests, you can ensure that your dog is a welcome and well-behaved addition to your wedding day.

If you're planning to film a wedding in Tahoe, California, there are a few things you should keep in mind to ensure that you capture all the beauty and magic of the area. Here are some tips to help you get the best footage possible:

1. Be Prepared for Changing Weather: Conditions: Tahoe's weather can be unpredictable, so it's essential to be prepared for any conditions you might encounter. Pack rain gear, warm clothing, and sunscreen, even if the forecast looks favorable. Keep an eye on the weather forecast leading up to the wedding and adjust your plans accordingly.

2. Combat Altitude Sickness: The high altitude in Tahoe can make some people feel sick. Encourage your clients and their guests to stay hydrated and to take it easy during their first few days in the area. If someone does experience altitude sickness, make sure they take it easy and drink plenty of fluids.

3. Capture the Clear Water of Lake Tahoe with a Drone: Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, and you don't want to miss the opportunity to capture it on film. We especially recommend turning your drone’s camera straight down, which will often allow you to capture images of the bottom of the lake, including boulders, as the water is almost completely clear in the summer months. Consider using a drone to get aerial shots of the lake, but make sure you comply with FAA regulations and obtain any necessary permits.

4. Utilize Historic Structures in the Area: Tahoe is rich in history, and incorporating historic structures into your footage can add depth and interest to your final product. Here are four historic structures in the area that are worth checking out:

• The Hellman-Ehrman Mansion: This 1903 summer home on the west shore of Lake Tahoe has been beautifully preserved and is open to the public for tours.

• The Gatekeeper's Museum: This museum in Tahoe City showcases the history of the Tahoe area and includes exhibits on the Washoe tribe, early pioneers, and the timber industry.

• The Vikingsholm Castle: This stunning 38-room mansion was built in 1929 and is one of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture in the United States.
